SLAB ESTATE

Slab compounds are developed on single or multiple city blocks. Different building forms (bars, courtyards, blocks etc) are distanced 20 to 30 meters apart. Height (5-15 stories) and sizes can vary within the complex. If gated, multiple entrances restrict public access to various degrees. Mixed use complexes have different amenities and public programmes within, similarly than London’s post-war public housing estates. Current slab compounds provide the largest diversity in unit sizes, types, price range and ownership schemes.
