SLAB VARIATIONS

In Shanghai/Suzhou single slab developments are rare and if found, they form a compound. Corridor arrangements are also infrequent and usually for temporary use. The few found examples present many variations: 2 to 20 story high; single or double loaded; internal or external corridors. Multiprogrammed buildings include hotels and/or commercial fronts at street level. The most recurring example is the 2 story prefabricated modular slab building which configures compounds within construction sites, characteristic of Shanghai/Suzhou and all chinese city scapes.
